Define the mango pulp specification first
Before choosing machines, define what the customer will buy: pulp for immediate downstream processing, a bulk ingredient or a retail product. Record the target texture, acceptable fibre level, packaging format and intended storage conditions. Those decisions affect the line after pulping as much as the pulper itself.
List the mango varieties and maturity range you expect to receive. A trial with one well-selected fruit sample does not represent a whole season. Ask suppliers to document the fruit condition used when measuring throughput and pulp recovery.
Map the route from receiving to pulp
A planning flow may include receiving and inspection, washing, sorting, preparation, pulping and finishing, followed by the preservation and packing stages required for the product. The exact preparation sequence must be matched to the fruit and selected machine configuration.
The FAO guide to production facilities describes preparation equipment and pulper-finishers that separate unwanted skins and seeds. For a proposed mango line, ask the supplier specifically how stones, peel and coarse material are handled and collected.
Compare pulper configuration and screen options
When evaluating a mango pulper machine, request the available working arrangement, screen choices, access for cleaning and method of replacing wear parts. Ask for samples from the proposed configuration so the product team can assess texture before approving equipment.
A finer finished product can change the practical throughput or the need for an additional finishing stage. Avoid choosing a screen from its nominal opening alone. Record the resulting pulp consistency and reject stream during trials with your own fruit.
Balance seasonal receiving with hourly processing
Calculate expected daily fruit deliveries and how many hours the line can actually operate. Use receiving weight, sorted input and recovered pulp as separate figures. For example, an illustrative 1,000 kg trial input yielding 650 kg of acceptable pulp represents 65% recovery for that trial only; it is not a promised mango yield.

Specify what happens after pulping
Pulping does not by itself establish shelf life. Identify the intended downstream handling, preservation process and packaging before finalising the line. Have the product process and storage conditions validated for the actual formulation and pack rather than treating the equipment purchase as a shelf-life guarantee.

Record these points during the trial
- Fruit variety, maturity and total input weight.
- Preparation method and rejected fruit weight.
- Elapsed production time and finished pulp weight.
- Pulp texture, coarse material and agreed quality checks.
- Cleaning time, operator tasks and changeover steps.
